A Note from Grace
Sitting here at my desk I've been reminded of some very special things about Dueber Church and decided it might be good to share with all of you.
In Ephesians 4 we read (from the Message)
"In light of all this, here's what I want you to do. While I am locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk— better yet, run!— on the road God called you to travel. I don't want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don't want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline— not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences."
This scripture is lived out in our church. We are not perfect, but we're on the road God has called us to travel. We look forward to an exciting, busy fall. We have excellent volunteers (AND MORE ARE ALWAYS NEEDED) who work in every area of our great church. I always think of the children— nursery, toddlers, Wednesday night "HOPE" ministry, and the teens. We have some really NEAT teens! And did you know our Jr. Church kids make special crafts to send our Indoor Friends once a month?
We have terrific Bible Studies available and special electives in various other areas on Sunday evenings.
We have Sunday School Classes (11 adult classes) that care and share and help each other when a need arises. We have greeters who are friendly and ushers who are helpful.
We look foward to choir beginning and participating and enjoying all the music of the church's two services. And we have a pastor who studies the Word and presents thoughtful, timely messages.
What a great church we enjoy. And what a great opportunity to get busy sharing in the work God has called us to do.
In His Love,
Grace
