About the Event
Remember when you were a child and the anticipation of going trick-or-treating was nearly overwhelming? First, you decided what you wanted to be. A princess, a cowboy, or maybe a rock star… (For my brothers it was always a football player since trick-or-treat falls during football season - we weren’t very creative!) Then, the fun of pulling that costume together or even going shopping for just the right piece. And finally, the big night. Going up to strangers’ homes, saying the magic words and then BOOM, here comes the candy! It was glorious!
Sadly, trick-or-treat (like so many things) must be different this year. Many people will not feel comfortable sending their children door-to-door for fear of them bringing home more than candy. However, Dueber Church can be here to bring some of the fun back.
We are asking that EACH of you help with Dueber Church’s trunk-or-treat this year. Even if trick-or-treating is not your favorite thing, do it for the kids! Your involvement may just be donating a bag of candy (or several!) Or we would LOVE to have lots of cars “dress up” and even their owners too!
We know that the idea of decorating a car can be a little daunting. Therefore, we have been coming up with lots of ideas - just watch the slide show shown prior to worship- and there are hundreds more on the internet! You can make it as extensive or as easy as you would like. If you would like a printout of a picture from the slide show, just contact the church office and Katy will get it to you.
We would appreciate everyone signing up in advance so that we know how many cars we can count on. You can sign up by going to the events page on our website or by contacting the church office.
We are working on ways to keep you safe too! We will be spreading our trunk or treat throughout the full parking lot in order to leave plenty of room between cars. We will have a clear traffic pattern for our trick-or-treaters. Best of all, some wonderful gentlemen from our church are creating candy chutes! When a child comes to your station you will reach up, drop the candy in a chute and they can catch it in their bag at the bottom!
Note: Rain date is one week later - 10/28/20
